It's better than some programs.
On 'dows, anyway.

I've tried trillian, gaim (which I use in linux), psi, Miranda and possibly a few others and none of them have actually ever been better than msn.
Not on a 'dows machine, anyway.

At least partially because any crapness in the actual network cannot be helped by the programe.

Indeed. Resnet sucks ass.

ResNet is actually pretty good. The portblocking is irritating, but the connection is fast and stable.
It takes a slow, unstable connection makes you appreciate that...

It is fast and stable because it is connected to Jnet. The connection I got in the Physics building during my project makes Resnet look like a drunk slug.

I rather like the BT one at the moment. Decent speed, doesn't break and can actually download stuff (although I'm down to under 5 gig of space again ).

5 gig download limit or 5gig hard drive?
After doing some research I reckon the reason my speed is limited to about 280kbs (with an up of just over 300) is the fact that the Voyager 105 ADSL 'modem' sucks ass. A better one is on the way. A proper wireless one as well ;D
