Much though I like Picard (and indeed the legendary starship captain and 27 star general Zapp Brannigan) I will have to go with the Sisco. He is a higher being after all!
Dammit! Make Worf a Captain and give him his own series where he flies around in the Defiant being cool.
Or have one in an alternate mirror universe where Spock doesn't frag things up.

Alas, I have to choose Picard over Sisko. For now.
Spock was also a captain. So was Sulu...
Can I vote for Sulu?

Whilst they, and various others, held the rank, they didn't have the staring role. Main character only.
Scotty was a captain at one point too, and McCoy must have gone through it to get to Admiral.

Pity Stafleet discontinued commodores- lets face it, that's the best rank (or post, or whatever) ever.

I rather like Lord Commander myself, but then I would.

I only watched the original and TNG, though.

You aren't missing much with Voyager though...

I know. I basically only bothered watching what my mother watched (she's a trekkie and my brother and I have kind of followed in her footsteps in some vague fashion).
Dan agrees with Picard.

Dunno. Channel Five is repeating Voyager every weekday now. That souldn't be the highlight of my day. Still, it's (marginally!) better than most daytime telly.

They showed the "Go Back to 1996" episode today. Man, that was stupid...
I mean, who leaves Kim in command? That's asking for trouble! Not least because he'll probably get killed at the first opportunity, as usual.

Picard - I like the Shakespearean touch - I think if Ian McKellen had been Captain Gandalf of the Starship Mordor I would have possibly had an orgasm (am I actually the worlds saddest freak or what?!)
