Why? That film had annoying children in it And dinosaurs!!! Beside, it's easier to forgive small childen whn they're older than you. He did Taken and Tremors, didn't he? And was in Goldmember, if that counts.

Having seen The Longest Day I find Saving Private Ryan unecessarily soppy. Plus the cast of the Longest Day is like a who's who of great Holywood actors. And it avoids Holywood sentimentalitly. And is visually impressive (long before CGI). And feels like WW2. And is historically accurate. In short, better.
