Akira doesn't have to make sense. Neither does Eva. Because they fell right.

Yes. On an intuitive level, rather than a cognitive level, they make sense. I think.
Could just be I'm being pretentious again...

Yes. On an intuitive level, rather than a cognitive level, they make sense. I think. What does that have to do with falling?

1. The Commodore meant "feel", not "fell", and he can’t spell either.
2. The point in consideration falls within the bounds of a certain way of thinking which is, in the Commodore's opinion, the correct one.

And now you are deeper in my debt...
What? Why? NO! Of course not.
What am I going on about again?
Anyway, I am of the opinion that Project Anime doesn't show enough stuff with mechs in. I dig giant robots.

Macross, then?
The problem is all the stuff with giant robots in are a bit, well, rubbish (Gundam Wing knows where it is!), except one whichAlex famously objects to for reasons of peversity.

Bad design of the units (they're not even mechs, they're biomechs), terrible tactics and idiot supreme command.

Even you have to admit that NERV fails admirably at any sensible task that they were set/want to achive.
If you want to save the world there are far better ways.
If you want to destroy the world there are far easier ways.
Emotionally unstable teenagers are NOT ideal pilots for (badly designed) military hardware.

I'm not even going to respond...
The point is ONLY emo teenagers can pilot them! (Okay, I lied!)
