By popular demand (and having ascertained that First Contact is, unsurprisingly, the best), I've added a poll of worst Star Trek Films, excluding the good ones. Except for IV, so Alex can vote for "the one with the whales in".

Whales? i am obviously so uncultured as to have not seen whales at any point in star trek.
Whales and space in my mind involve a sperm whale meeting a swift end as the climax to a rapid descent towards the planet Magrathea.

Star Trek IV involves whales- a probe comes from outer space to find out what happened to all the extinct whales and toasts the earth, so Kirk n. Co go back to 196 to pick up some humpbacks. And Chekov has to investgate "nuklear wessels", which is a bit laboured, but I think it's a cool film.
Really helped the "Save the Whales" campaign too...

IV sucks, but not as much as V. And there is the rule to consider. Stupid Nemesis breaking it.

It was better than Insurection.
Which really did feel like a two part TNG with better effects.
