It's inevitable a poll like this will start eventually, so I thought I'd start it now.
Who is/was your favourite vocalist from Iron Maiden? (I'll answer later, when all the Bayley-bashing ends...)

I like Paul Di'Anno, the first two albums are among the best Maiden albums. His voice fit the early Maiden sound really well. I don't think they would have been as succesful if he hadn't of quit though. You get more of a sense of fun with Bruce, which is what Maiden should be about. Rocking like a bastard and having fun.

Differrent voices for different songs. I'd rate Bruce and Paul as almost equal with Bruce just snatching it. Blaze, even though evry1 hates him was pretty good. He is nowhere near as good as Paul or Bruce but thats because they are two of the best metal vocalists ever (if not THE best, On a side note have you seen paul di'anno recently? he's turned into a fat bald man and ther was a video of him singing for scotland's maiden tribute band and he still sounds great!) . Anyhoo yeh Blaze was good and i loved 'Lord of the Flies' and 'The Sign of the Cross' from X Factor. Bruce, however does both songs better and also gives an amazing rendition of all of Paul's songs as well. Ive seen a video of Blaze do a couple of Bruce's songs live and he was awful on 'The Trooper'. Bruce ftw!

Di'Anno's voice is a lot grittier now. I like it - its much more manly sounding.
And I agree with the statement that Bruce is one of the best vocalists ever. Even for his age....

Blaze is also fat now! And okay, his range was awful- I can't see him doing Run to the Hills. Not exactly an air raid siren, is he...
